"Lets go to Big Gym School!". Those are Marlee's words that describe Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab Hospital. Marlee has been fortunate to be a part of the amazing BIRT program for almost 2 years. After experiencing an acute autoimmune illness, Marlee went to Bloorview to regain her gross and fine motor skills. The team at Bloorview were amazing. Patience, humour, and creativity made the difficult days better. We can't thank the team at Bloorview enough. They helped Marlee and us through a difficult time. As an outpatient now, Marlee still refers to Bloorview as "Big Gym School", and she never says no to going!
Marlee loves crafting. Give her paints, clue, sparkles and paper, and you never know what she will create! Crafting has no boundaries, so Marlee can be as expressive as she wants. Her Bike Helmet is a must! Her big sister, Ella, learned to ride her bike last year and now Marlee wants to join her. Her bike helmet is also an important safety feature we use when Marlee is an new environment, until the teachers and kids are aware of her physical abilities. Looking forward to finding the brightest coloured helmet for her!
