I chose this charity because it's something that has always really mattered to me. I've watched movies and even am working on a project in school on gender equality, and it makes me so upset that some girls are denied basic rights, such as food and education, just because of their gender. I find this completely unfair, and I want to help make a difference and help this cause. I feel really proud that thanks to my party, $187.50 was donated to help girls gain proper rights.
At first, I put down 'Surprise!' in the present thingy because I wasn't sure what I wanted. During previous birthdays, I got a Kobo, an iPad, and an iPod. I still feel so lucky that I get to have these awesome devices when some kids don't have anything. Now, I'm thinking more about that and have decided to donate the rest of the $187.50 to charity, because I really don't need all that money, and some people could use it. I'm not even sure where the money will go. I just know it will be for a worthy cause that needs support.
