"Wholeness is like a flower with four petals. When it opens, one discovers strength, sharing, honesty, and kindness. Together these four petals create balance, harmony, and beauty." - Little Leroy Bear, 2000
She's All That
About Liz
Liz is an educator at the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives, and is a PhD student at the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). As an educator, she understands that learning does not begin and end with each course or degree. She has committed most of her adult life to learning, whether through academia, reading, conversing, observing and thinking. As a lover of museums and history, Liz believes that ethnographic objects in museum collections are full of stories that have yet to be told. In her spare time, Liz loves travel, design, cooking and baking, visiting museums, knitting, dogs, and hanging out with her family and friends.
Why we love Liz
Liz is a woman who teaches us how to open our eyes. She shows us knew ways of seeing. She has dedicated herself to studying our history, our ways of telling stories and our persistent blind spots. Liz is helping us to see our past from a new perspective. She is very modest about her accomplishments and her knowledge - she elevates women, she shines a light on others before taking credit herself. We are spotlighting Liz Feld because she has brought so much light and love to us and to the incredible stories that need exposure. We thank her and we await more of her teachings and discoveries.
