She's All That
About RonniLyn
When her older daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease at age 3, RonniLyn Pustil learned that gluten-free food would be her medicine for the rest of her life. She and her husband turned their house into a GF oasis—a safe place where their daughter could eat whatever she wanted. But they didn’t want to have to settle for food that didn’t taste good. “Food is everything: nourishment, pleasure, comfort, a way that people come together,” RonniLyn says. For the past 13 years, this mom has been on a mission to source the best GF food out there and she has discovered countless GF gems. A writer and magazine editor by trade, RonniLyn created a blog where she shared info, recipes, product finds and resources all about the GF lifestyle. And, in 2012, she brought all her GF discoveries together under one roof at the pop-up GF marketplace that she created...and Gluten Free Garage was born! Now approaching its 10-year anniversary, GFG is THE go-to festival in Toronto for anyone who lives a gluten-free lifestyle. This celiac-friendly, family-friendly event is carefully vetted and curated so that everything is 100% gluten free and 100% delicious. It’s a one-stop shopping day that brings the GF community together to eat happily and safely and connect with each other.
Why we love RonniLyn
ECHOage loves a passionate mom on a mission, it's true. But this mom, RonniLyn, is different. This mom isn't just on a mission to democratize, popularize and elevate gluten-free food, she's on a tireless crusade to make life better for children in her daughter's situation. RonniLyn is humbly and so generously making the world a safer and more wonderful place for her daughter Lily to eat, laugh, enjoy and live fully. While she does this, she gives love, a hella-ov-a-lot-a LOVE to her daughter, to the GF community, to other activists, to moms struggling with fear and uncertainly around celiac disease, and to us. This love she created ripples and re-bounds all across the mommy community of Toronto and beyond. Thank you RonniLyn, your impact is immeasurable.
